SATURDAY, JULY 10TH – ‘The Leicester Carlisle Circular’
We visit 3 of the gems of England’s scenic railways. In the morning, we journey along the Aire Valley line via Keighley, Skipton and the hilly Craven Dales before tackling England’s most famous scenic railway – the Settle & Carlisle line, crossing Ribblehead viaduct and reaching Carlisle via the rugged Cumbrian Fells and picturesque Eden Valley. After a break of a few hours in the Border City of Carlisle we meander along England’s longest and most scenic railway along the Cumbrian Coast enjoying brilliant coastal views and the Lakeland Mountains. We end the day with fine views of the Pennine Mountains via Stalybridge, Standedge and West Yorkshire.

SATURDAY, 14TH AUGUST – Chesterfield – Carlisle – ‘The 20s Southern Circular II’
This great value railtour is a must for heritage locomotive fans as a pair of Vintage DRS class 20 locomotives take us to the cathedral city of Salisbury via an interesting route along the Midland Mainline then across the varying city landscapes of London. Outwards our route should see us run via Virginia Water, Staines, Woking, Guilford, Havant, Fareham, Eastleigh and Romsey. You will then have a few hours to explore Salisbury with its famous cathedral and plenty of places to shop, eat and drink! The return takes us over more lines now rarely visited by these locomotives as we head via Basingstoke, Mortimer, Reading, Slough and Acton. This promises to be an unforgettable day out.

Fares: First Class £85 (£65 for juniors) and Standard Class £57 (£37 for juniors).
