Help make the invisible, visible donate now
Throughout 2013, Girlguiding UK members will be challenged to become Girls in Action.
Girlguiding UK has joined forces with five UK charities who have
created projects for members to learn about issues that blight the
lives of girls and women in the UK and around the world,
and empower them to advocate, volunteer and raise awareness to
make the world a better place for girls.
Railway Children is one of the chosen charity partners, and has
produced a project called Making the invsible visible, which aims
to explore what makes children in the UK run away from home, the
dangers they face, and why girls are more likely to run away than
boys. It provides the opportunity for Girlguiding UK members to
learn how they can help to keep their friends safe.
All of the resources required to complete the activities in the
pack are listed on the individual activity pages, or can be found
in the appendices at the end. If you would like any further
information or would like to request any fundraising materials,
please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Lots of units have been busy working their way through our pack,
and here in the Railway Children office we have been excited to
recieve postcards created by the girls. We will be passing the
postcards on to our partner projects to be shared with young people
at risk of running away, but first we'd like to share them with
you. Great work!
