Railway Children's school resources educate children on the risks of running away from home

School resources

We've created free resources for teachers to educate pupils about the dangers of running away.

On average, two children in every school class could run away from home before the age of 16!*

Helping children to understand the dangers of running away and teaching them to make safe decisions when away from home is important. Our free school lesson plans help teachers to deliver lessons on running away from home, as well as helping children to identify safe people and safe places.

We have packs available for Key Stages 1, 2 and 3 to educate children between the ages of 5 and 16. The packs include guidance notes for teachers to provide them with more information about the issue of running away in the UK and how they can support children who are potentially at risk.
