Working with partners meets the immediate needs of children

Working with partners

We partner grassroots organisations who have invaluable local knowledge, established community relationships and projects specific to the needs of the local area.

Our partners are best placed to deliver the crucial services that meet the immediate needs of children on the streets. These vital services include outreach work, street work, shelter, providing opportunities to access education and vocational training, and returning children to family life.

We work with partners in areas where we've identified a need to reach children as soon as possible, before they become involved in life on the streets, and we concentrate resources where we can have the greatest impact.

Growing our partners

As well as funding vital services, Railway Children provides the systems and practices to develop sound, transparent, credible and cost-effective programmes for children. We constantly improve services for children living on the streets by sharing the learning and experience we've gained through working in a variety of countries, and our expertise in child rights.

It is important that our partners can grow and meet the needs of more children in the future, so we also work with them to strengthen their governance and improve financial management, leading to better planning, monitoring and evaluation.
