The Railway Children Sleepout
The fundraising event you can do in your sleep will return for 2024! You can now register your interest for next year - just click the green button.
Are you looking for an opportunity to make a difference in the lives of vulnerable children around the world? Join us for the Railway Children Sleepout at railway stations across the UK.
By registering your interest, you will be among the first to receive updates on the 2024 event and how you can participate. Gather your friends, family or colleagues and sign up as a team to take on the challenge of sleeping out on a cold, hard railway station floor for just one night, all while raising funds and awareness for Railway Children.
Together, we can make a positive impact in the lives of those who need it most and ensure no child is left behind.
The #BigStationSleepout made a huge impact in February 2023 with over 360 people sleeping at nine stations and raising over £170,000. So we're bringing it back again in 2024...

What to expect
You'll have to be prepared for a cold, uncomfortable night but you will at least have a roof over your head, warm food and drink, and the companionship of your friends and colleagues.
This event won’t replicate the situations faced by the children we work with, but it will raise awareness of the issues and difficulties they face. We know that the more we can do that, the more we can do, together, to make a difference in the lives of children who need us.
What to bring
- A sleeping bag and pillow
- Warm clothes (we recommend lots of light layers)
- Your mobile phone so you can share your experience on social media and help raise more awareness
What's included
- Railway Children branded beanie hat
Event timings
8pm - 8.30pm: Arrival and sign-in
9pm: Welcome from Railway Children

"I’m delighted to support Railway Children. The COVID pandemic has made the charity’s work with young people more vital than ever. It will be a cold and uncomfortable night, but the children supported by Railway Children face this hardship every day.”
