Join us for a cycling challenge full of wildlife and wonder as we explore Tanzania by bike in Ride Africa 2019. This epic 455km adventure will take you from the foothills of Kilimanjaro to the Serengeti, and you’ll be helping us change children’s lives with every passing mile.

A life-changing challenge through stunning scenery

A life-changing challenge through stunning scenery

Our intrepid cyclists will arrive in Kilimanjaro where they’ll be kitted out with their bikes and equipment before heading off through the bushland, past Maasai villages and through the Great Rift Valley.

The six-day bike ride will tackle various terrains, with beautiful backdrops and volcanic mountains on either side. There’ll be a visit to Lake Natron where thousands of flamingoes breed and once the challenge is complete you’ll be able to go on a game park safari.

You’ll need to raise sponsorship for Railway Children to take part and we’ll show you how this money is spent with a visit to see our work in action. Arriving at our project in Mwanza, you’ll meet the children whose lives we’ll be changing and see how important it is to keep them safe and away from the city’s streets.

What's involved

The challenge will take place from 25th September to 6th October 2019, with between five and nine hours of cycling over six days on either dirt or tarmac roads.  During the trip you’ll be staying at a mixture of tented camps, guest houses, hunters’ lodges and hotels.

What you'll get
