Railway Children has been chosen as one of the charities to benefit from Station to Station - the rail industry’s nationwide programme of special events to celebrate the Queen’s 90th birthday.
On the weekend of June 11-12, stations across the country will be joining together to host a range of community activities to celebrate HM Queen Elizabeth II’s milestone birthday.
Station to Station Queen’s Celebration is a not for profit event and the proceeds will be shared between five charities - including Railway Children.
Railway Children’s Chief Executive, Terina Keene, said: “We’ve been working closely with the rail industry for over 20 years. With huge commitment and support from our friends across the rail industry, we’ve helped over 270,000 street children during this time.
“We’re delighted to have been chosen as one of the five charities to benefit from Station to Station. This will continue our longstanding partnership with the rail industry and provide another opportunity to come together to reach more children who are alone and at risk on the streets.
“The Station to Station event is not just a celebration of Her Majesty’s birthday, it’s also celebrating the role of public transport as a community hub, bringing local people together. We at Railway Children are delighted to be standing with the rail community to be part of this event - and we too would like to wish Her Majesty the Queen a very happy birthday.”
