Rc410 East Midlands Trains News Article

Rail enthusiasts and industry partners have teamed up with Railway Children to create a special charter train journey that will help us change lives.

The Pickering Paxman will be a unique HST experience and has been organised by East Midlands Trains in conjunction with The Branch Line Society and the 125 Group.

Leaving Derby at 6.30am on Saturday, July 15, this exclusive journey will tour the beautiful scenery on its way to, and around, the North Yorkshire Moors Railway, taking an unusual route to maximise the appeal to rail fans.

The locomotive will be made up of eight Mark 3 vehicles and two EMT Class 43 power cars and passengers will travel in comfort all the way to Whitby and back, taking in several stops including Pontefract, Thornaby and York along the way.

There will be a real ale bar available and passengers will be able to enjoy refreshments throughout the journey.

With each mile, every guest on board will be helping us raise vital funds for vulnerable children in Africa, India and here in the UK.

Not only will all profits from ticket sales support our ongoing work, there will also be a raffle and charity auction on board. This valued collaboration will help Railway Children in our fight for a world where no child has to live on the streets.
