Railway Children has developed the Safeguarding on Transport programme in response to a growing number of incidents being reported across the UK public transport system.

Working with British Transport Police and the Department for Transport, our scheme helps to spread awareness of how to identify and protect those at risk on the network, including children that have run away, victims of crime or those with mental health issues.

Results show that our approach works, with more and more incidents being reported, and more and more vulnerable people being kept safe. Not only can we work together to protect these people at risk, doing so with us will help transport operators fulfil current safety obligations.
