How can my company set up Payroll Giving?

Research shows that there are real business benefits to offering payroll giving to employees. You can increase and monitor your business' charitable giving, improve company image, demonstrate social responsibility and show commitment to staff with little cost or effort.

There are no costs associated with setting up the scheme and the administration is minimal. A further benefit is that any administration costs are tax deductible.

Adopting a charity and encouraging employees to sign up for payroll giving is a great way to get your organisation behind a cause.

Please contact us for further information on the sign up process and an opportunity to have professional fundraisers work with you to help sign up employees. Email hello@railwaychildren.org.uk.

How to set up the scheme in 2 easy steps:

1: To set up a Give As You Earn Scheme, all you need to do is register with a Payroll Giving Agency (PGA) approved by the Inland Revenue. These are listed on the Inland Revenue website .

The agencies that Railway Children are registered with are:

2: Once you are registered, all you need to do is send on any payroll giving forms you receive from your employees to your chosen agency and they will do the rest. The agency is responsible for adding the tax onto a donor's gift and transferring the total sum to the donor's nominated charity.
