Railway Children's consultancy services
We offer both short and long-term tailored consultancy provision that draws on our extensive knowledge and experience of safeguarding young people on the transport network. We can also offer unique, firsthand insight from young people with lived experience of risk on the UK’s transport system. Through this combination of expertise and youth-based perspective, we can support an extensive review of your services and make recommendations to enhance your safeguarding offer.
Contextual safeguarding assessments
We have a dedicated trained team who work with rail and transport groups to enhance the safeguarding of environments at and around stations and surrounding communities.
A full comprehensive assessment is undertaken with key stakeholders and a comprehensive report generated which highlights key actions and outcomes.
Youth-led reviews
We train young people with lived experience of facing risk on the railway to assess rail and transport communities, enabling them to become better equipped at supporting young people’s needs.
Feedback is presented in the form of a written report and recommendations, with opportunities for further discussion.
Apprentice support
We offer bespoke sessions and support to attract, retain and develop young talent in your organisation.
This can include how to coach, manage and lead apprentices, reviewing recruitment processes and looking at the culture of an organisation and how it’s geared up to support a younger workforce.
Content development and delivery for conferences
Whether it’s running interactive workshops, delivering safeguarding training sessions or providing a keynote speaker, we can offer bespoke support for your conferences and events.

Debriefing following safeguarding incidents
We offer expert consultancy and facilitate debriefing following safeguarding or child protection incidents, helping organisations reflect, learn and improve.
These sessions provide a safe, structured environment for staff and leadership teams to explore what happened – including how a situation was managed – as well as considering what to do differently in future.
This process supports emotional wellbeing, promotes transparency and identifies practical steps to strengthen safeguarding practice while building organisational resilience.
Insights from these debriefs are used to inform policy, training and wider strategic development, ensuring an organisation’s continuous learning and improvement.
Bespoke workshops
We offer bespoke workshops tailored to a range of topics relating to children, young people and vulnerable adults. These sessions are designed in collaboration with you to address specific issues relevant to your organisation or team.
Alternatively, individuals can book places on our nationwide rolling training programme.

Contextual Safeguarding in Nottinghamshire
As part of a wider community safety initiative, we contributed to a contextual safeguarding audit on the Robin Hood Line.
This collaborative effort focused on safeguarding vulnerable individuals along the rail network and improving public safety.
