Our work
Answers to your questions about our work with vulnerable children across the UK, India and Tanzania.
What areas of the UK do you work in?
- London
- North West
- Yorkshire and Humberside
- Glasgow
How do I refer a child / young person to you?
We advise that you get in touch with our friendly supporter care team by emailing hello@railwaychildren.org.uk or ring us on 01270 757596 and we will organise for a member of our programme team to contact you regarding your query.
Can I fund a project in a country you don't currently work in?
While our direct delivery of programmes to support young people is currently focused in India, Tanzania and the UK, our impact extends far beyond these countries. Through collaboration with partner charities, government agencies and civil society organisations, we share best practice, influence policy and advocate for change, allowing our proven methods to be replicated at scale. This approach means your support helps protect children globally, even in places where we don’t run programmes directly.
Am I able to visit one of your projects overseas?
Our overseas projects are designed and led by local experts who best understand the needs and challenges facing children in their communities. To safeguard the children and young people we support, routine visits to in-country projects are not generally possible. However, supporters participating in certain fundraising challenges – such as our Kilimanjaro Trek – will have the chance to visit a project and see the impact of their fundraising first-hand.
