Help us reach children first and keep them safe

Every five minutes children like Adan arrive alone on a railway platform in India

Running away from abuse, violence and poverty, they use the railways to get to the cities, where they hope to find a better life. But the dangers they face here are often worse than what they ran from.

Our outreach teams search the stations looking out for vulnerable children. With no one to care for and protect them they are at risk from violence, abuse, trafficking and exploitation. We make sure to get to them before a predator does and before they are trapped in a life of despair they can never escape from.

About us

Railway Children is an international charity working in India, East Africa and the UK. We support children who are struggling to survive on the streets where they face violence, abuse and exploitation. We race to reach children at risk and give them care, shelter and protection. But we don't stop there.

We work with families and communities to make sure they have somewhere safe to stay and then we lobby governments and policymakers to ensure the systems are in place to support them.
