Help us celebrate the 160th anniversary of London's Metropolitan line

As the iconic Metropolitan line celebrates its 160th anniversary this year, what better way to mark the occasion than to walk 20km of its route, above ground, from Wembley Park to Aldgate?

The walk, which takes place on September 29th, is part of a series of events organised as part of Rail Aid - a fundraising initiative that raises vital support for the work of Railway Children.

With you all the way!

At every station along the way, there’ll be a checkpoint to collect a stamp as well as marshals en-route to keep everyone on track. There’ll also be information hubs to point out local landmarks as well as tell you about the kinds of projects and children your fundraising supports. You'll also receive a fold-out map containing walk information and an event T-shirt.

And, at the finishing line, there will be a welcome celebratory drink and medal waiting for each participant!

Last year’s Rail Trail, which celebrated the launch of the Elizabeth line, raised over £42,000. This year, we're hoping to raise even more!

It costs just £20 to register for the Metropolitan line Rail Trail, and we ask for a £100 minimum sponsorship pledge.

Every penny raised through the event will help Railway Children reach and protect more vulnerable children on the streets and railways of India, Tanzania and the UK.

Everyone (and their dog!) welcome

Everyone (and their dog!) welcome

The walk is suitable for individuals and groups, young and old and even your furry friends! It's also accessible for mobility scooters and wheelchairs - so invite your friends, family and colleagues along and enjoy a great day out while helping bring hope to some of the world's most vulnerable children.

Every pound you raise will genuinely make a difference to children around the world who desperately need your support.
