All our safeguarding training is CPD-accredited and designed for anyone working on, travelling through or involved in the rail and wider transport network. Unlike generic safeguarding training, each of our courses clearly links safeguarding issues back to the context of transport and can be adapted to meet your organisation’s needs.

Cost: £10+VAT per attendee
Time commitment: One hour. However, as this training is updated regularly, we recommend that learners complete a refresher every three years.

Course content: Our flagship Safeguarding on Transport interactive e-learning course is developed in partnership with young people, British Transport Police and the rail industry. This CPD-accredited course builds essential understanding in how to recognise, respond to and report safeguarding concerns. This course supports national safeguarding initiatives and has contributed to accreditation success in the Safeguarding on Rail Scheme for TOCs including Northern Rail and Great Western Railway.

Cost: £1,250+VAT per session for up to 22 learners. Or £120+VAT per learner for individual bookings. Sessions include refreshments and training materials.
Time commitment: Around six hours. This training is updated regularly. We recommend learners repeat the course every three years.
Course content: This course provides deeper insight for anyone who would like to take a lead role in establishing, managing and promoting safeguarding in their workplace, providing insight into the risks young people face on the transport network, and the crucial role the transport industry can play in early intervention and reducing harm.
The course has been designed to support different learning styles and encourage interaction and discussion around safeguarding and its presentation within the specific transport environments in which people work.
As a designated Railway Children Safeguarding Champion, every participant will receive access to our online safeguarding resources and our Safeguarding Champions Forums.

Format: In-person
Course content: Can you work as a team to identify the safeguarding risks and take appropriate action to keep young people safe… before time runs out? This fast-paced, hands-on, escape-room style training can be incorporated into wider Safeguarding Champions training or work as a standalone session. Ideally suited to groups of 6-10 people.

Course content: Heritage railways attract visitors of all ages, backgrounds and needs, and not every vulnerability is obvious. This course informs and equips staff and volunteers in the heritage rail sector with information, awareness and the skills to protect and support both themselves and visitors to their railways – ensuring the sector remains safe, supportive and welcoming for everyone.
